Makara Peak Supporters have been very fortunate to have the expert team at Kaitiaki o Ngahere Ltd helping us achieve our forest restoration goal for five years. Their mahi on the Peak has included a park-wide weed survey, prioritisation of weed control, planting site preparation and follow-up spraying, and eradication of several high-priority weeds species across a large area. Without Kaitiaki's regular efforts, we would be struggling (and probably failing) to stop weeds from ruining our burgeoning native forest.
Friends of Central Park
Kaitiaki has worked with us to control problem weeds in the steep and difficult to access areas of Central Park for the last five years. Not only have we made progress on reducing the weed problem in the park, but we have developed a positive relationship with Kaitiaki. They are always professional and responsive and offer wise advice. After the work is done they provide us with comprehensive reports that tell us exactly what they have done, what they found and advice on what we should do next.
Chairperson SEA Tawatawa
Stu and the team at Kaitiaki have been fundamental in creating a management plan for the Southern
Environmental Association to prioritise the control of pest plants at Tawatawa Reserve. We have
been very impressed with the knowledge and passion Stu and Roald have for methodical weed
identification and control, and how readily they share their expertise. The Kaitiaki team are
knowledgeable and professional and go above and beyond the get the job done! Kaitiaki have given
us greater confidence in managing the threat of invasive weeds, so we can protect the hard work
that has gone into our restoration project for the last 30 years, regenerating the native bush.
Kaitiaki o Ngahere has been carrying out ground-based pest plant contracts for Horizons for over a decade. Their experienced crews consistently put huge effort in to cover physically demanding sites over multiple days. The field data is readily supplied, and the post-op reports are detailed and informative which is essential for site management. They are consistently safe, professional, and passionate about their work. A fantastic company to work with.
